This privacy policy explains how Perform PR collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit performpr.co.uk or get in touch with us.

Who we are

Perform PR is a trading name of Kali Communications Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 12982296), registered office at Studio 9, 50-54 St Pauls Square, Birmingham, B3 1QS. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration reference ZB256120.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can contact us at melanie.pearson@performpr.co.uk.

What information we collect

When you contact us. If you fill in our contact/enquiry form, we collect your name, school or college name, email address, phone number (if provided), location, website (if provided), whether you’re a school or college, your message, and how you heard about us. This is sent to us by email; we do not currently store form submissions in a separate database.

If you opt in to our mailing list. Our contact form includes an optional checkbox for joining our mailing list. If you tick this box, you are consenting to us using your email address to send you our newsletter and other marketing communications from Perform PR (which may include PR tips, updates and promotional outreach, not only our newsletter). You can unsubscribe or ask us to stop at any time.

If you comment on our blog. If you leave a comment on a blog post, we collect the name and email address you provide, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help us detect spam. Your email address may be used to display an avatar via Gravatar, a service provided by Automattic — Gravatar’s own privacy policy applies to that.

Cookies. Our website does not currently use any analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes in future (for example if we introduce Google Analytics or a booking/mailing tool that sets cookies), we’ll update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

How we use your information

We use your information to respond to your enquiry and discuss our services with you, to send you our newsletter and other marketing communications (only if you’ve opted in), and to improve our website and prevent spam. We do this on the basis of your consent (for the mailing list and marketing communications) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your information may be processed by service providers who help us run our website and email, such as our website hosting provider and Cloudflare (our content delivery network) — these providers only process data on our instructions.

If we introduce a booking tool (such as Calendly) or an email marketing platform (such as Mailchimp) in future, we’ll update this policy to reflect that and name the specific providers involved.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry and contact information for as long as it’s relevant to our business relationship with you — for example, so we can refer back to previous conversations if you get back in touch. If you’d like us to delete your information, just ask and we will, unless we need to keep it for a legitimate business or legal reason.

If you’ve joined our mailing list, we’ll keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at melanie.pearson@performpr.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as our website or services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
